Girne American Primary School, which provides education under the Girne American University (GAU) Group of Schools, ranked first in the TRNC in the 100-yard dash finals of Junior Athletics.

Junior Athletics which was organized by the National Days of School Sports and Activities Coordination Unit under the Ministry of National Education was held between 12th and 13th May in Nicosia Ataturk stadium.

Girne American Elementary School students who had a successful race, won 2 first places, 1 second place and 2 third places.

Taygun Derviş (boys) and Suzan Su Çırakoğlu (girls) ranked 1st place in the TRNC in the 100-yard dash, while Tara Kamali ranked 3rd in the TRNC in the long jump.

Girne American Elementary School athletic team who had a significant success in team events ranked second in the TRNC in the 4x100m relay race.

In the high jump Anastasia Novstya and in the long jump Tara Kamali ranked 3rd in the TRNC and in the final competition, all the Girne American Elementary School students ranked 4th place in the TRNC.
