Paçi, a Modern Don Qixote Story Against Environmental Depredation on The Stage at GAU

“Paçi, a Black Sea Comedy” of Istanbul Public Theater met the audience at the Girne American University International Spectrum Congress Hall, Girne Campus, with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Repubic of Turkey and Girne Municipality.

Memduh Erdal, Chairman of Board of Trustees and Sevim Erdal, Sümer Aygın, Mayor of Girne Municipality and many theater lovers watched the play “Paçi, a Black Sea Comedy” staged by famous Turkish stage actors Erkan Can, Neslihan Yeldan, Faruk Akgören, Murat Taşkent, Tuğçe Güleç, Fehmi Karaarslan and Nazif Uğur Tan.
“A Modern Don Qixote Story Against Environmental Depredation”

“Paçi, a Black Sea Comedy”, written by Burak Akyüz and directed by Kemal Başar, in which traditional theater elements were intensively used, gave important messages about the environmental depredation showing how the modern don qixotes struggled against the environmental depredation without abolishing their traditional structure . The play tells the a story of a travelling theate player and a peevish girl like the Black Sea he meets while he is fighting against those who try to change, spoil, sell, and depredate the Black Sea, and it also tells how much people of the Black Sea love their soul, nature and culture with a modern don qixote story.
