GAU Seminar on Developing Aviation

A seminar on “Developing Aviation and Significance of Air Traffic Controls” was held with the co-operation of GAU Aviation Club and Cyprus Turkish Air Traffic Controls Association at GAU Millennium Senate Congress Hall.

In his opening speech, GAU Vice-Rector - Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek reported that GAU has always placed an emphasis on aviation and that the Flight School will soon be established. Çiçek also added that the co-operation amongst GAU Aviation Club and CTATCA is significant and it is important that it must continue. Çiçek finally congratulated those students of the Aviation Club who have successfully contributed to the organization.

CTATCA Chair - İzzet Derkan emphasized that they are always in mutual interaction with GAU Aviation Club and this co-operation will result in a positive turn-around for the aviation sector. Derkan underlined that CTATCA has active associations in the TRNC and they are very active and leading in the aviation sector. Derkan finally recorded that “This is not the first, nor will it be the last”. Derkan stated that they have constantly shown efforts to promote aviation as CTATCA and emphasized the vocational risks via events and organizations.

Derkan further commented on Flight Safety and Health and Ankara-Ercan Airspace in his presentation. İzzet Derkan drew attention to the significance of health in Flight Safety.

The Head of GAU Aviation Club - Sinem Özübek, emphasized that they are grateful to have co-operation with CTATCA and stated that traditional aviation seminars are indeed important for the GAU students.

Concluding the seminar, the speakers were presented with plaques and the participants with certificates.
