Hosted by Yıldız Technical University, a workshop entitled as “CROSSROAD” was held under corporation and contributions ofGirne American University and oneof the top authoritiesin the field of architecture the Penn State University of USA and The Scientific and Technological Research Council ofTurkey (TÜBİTAK).

The workshop was realized upon successful studies and presentations held under contributions of the Head of Penn-State Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. MehrdadHadighi, GAU Head of Architecture Assist. Prof. Dr. ShahinKeynoush and as the executive theHead of Architecture ofYıldız Technical UniversityProf. Dr. Nuran Kara Pilehvarian.The closing presentations have been attended by Dean of GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts Assist. Prof. Dr. Hossein Sadri, Dean of YTU Prof. Dr. Murat Soygeniş, Dean of Kocaeli University Prof. Dr. NevnihalErdoğan, Prof Dr. SalihOfluoğlu of MimarSinan Fine Arts University and Prof. Dr. SemaSoygeniş of BAÜand also discussions were made in regards to the productivity and the must to realize such studies in the near future.

The students have interpreted the fountains of Istanbul under the theme of WATER and SHADOW and developed new design concepts.

EzgiYalçınand NuriyeCeren Kaplan; students of GAU department of Architecture together with 14 students whom attended from Turkey, have all participated in various exhibitions, speeches and design studies.

The students of GAU Architecture department, whom contributed to the presentations resembling designs created in workshops, have proved that they are ready to compete in real life circumstances.

Following the presentation of certificates to those whom contributed and also to the students the design studies have been exhibited in Yıldız Technical University.
