Girne American University is holding a press conference for briefing about the continuing constructions of Karpaz Life Campus.

The statement informed that the foundation of the construction was laid under the government of Prime Minister İrsen Küçük on 8th of May 2012 and since then the construction works have been proceeding and further briefing about the proceedings of the construction will be held by Board of Administrators at GAU Karpaz Life Campus Coordination Office at 11:00am on 22nd of June 2013 Monday.

Beside the intercontinental campuses of GAU in England, Singapore, USA and Turkey, the constructions of second campus of North Cyprus is yet proceeds.

Karpaz Life Campus will form new dimension to the Understanding of Education Building

GAU stated that the campus not like classical campus structure; it will include natural lakes and will be oriented upon social life

Campus will include information center, Archeology and Nature Museum, eco-village, health center, sports center, accommodation units, agriculture and AR-GE center for husbandry development, theater and cinemas which all will be environmentally friendly and open to public for 24 hours a day.

“Karpaz will also embrace Health Center besides of Campus, Cinema and Theater”.

Karpaz Life Campus wills be the first campus in the Karpaz region as well as first museum, theater, cinema and culture &art center which will hold 500 students as initially. As commencing education Karpaz Life Campus will provide education through English Foundation School, Tourism Department and institutions and education and research centers on environment and nature.

Students whom continue education in GAU campuses of England, USA and Singapore and as well as first education building of Turkey Campus will have the opportunity to continue their semester in Karpaz Life Campus.

The statement also emphasized that Karpaz Life Campus will contribute to TRNC and regional economy of Karpaz and that students of GAU Singapore, England, USA and education center of Turkey will be hosted in Karpaz Life Campus; the attraction center of science, culture, art and sports and also the great contributor for Karpaz regional economy and also agriculture and husbandry in means of education and training.

Statement also underlining that Life Campus will inhabit Karpaz spirit, solitude, virgin environment, flora and fauna with its structural designs as architectural designs which protect and respect environment are part of architectural ethics. The structures which GAU will construct upon its vision and development strategy will be a unique model in world architecture history.

Eco-village and Environment Institutions will be established

The Karpaz Campus will enrich the potential of the environment in the region together with the establishments of Eco-village and the environmental researches applied in the region and annual expert reports will be discussed. Karpaz Life Campus will be center of scientific studies in regards GAU’s principals regarding sociological and natural formation of the region and progressive environment and culture.
