The panel “Graduation projects in Architecture Education” which was organized by Girne American University (GAU) Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts held in GAU Karmi Campus The panel was attended by famous architects and academicians, Mimar Sinan awarded architect Ziya Tanalı and Associate Professor Celal Abdi Güzer. . Architect Turulsan Aslan, from the Chamber of Commerce of North Cyprys and GAU academicians also made speeches in the panel.

In the statement related with the panel which was directed by Assoc. Prof Zeynep Onur, GAU underlined that that after 25 years of experience in high education, aim of the panel which was attended by the most prominent professions at their fields, is to provide students’ development with conferences, seminars and workshops. Besides that it was underlined that those activities which were attended by the most prominent academicians and architects are very helpful for the career development.

In his speech, Assoc Prof. Celal Abdi Güzer who is one of the most prominent and award-winning architects of Turkey, lecturer of Architecture Department of ODTU, mentioned that is the first he has ever come to GAU, and he underlined that he was impressed by the excitement of students and energy of academicians. He said that the excitement and energy, he had observed, are the basics of a qualified education and production and added even if geography is different, problems and priorities in architecture is the same.

Assoc Prof. Güzer emphasized the importance of the panel “Graduation Projects in Architecture Education which was held by Girne American University Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts to make academicians and architecture students meet and share their knowledge and he also added that panel has a great importance for providing the cooperation between the Faculties of Architecture of ODTU and GAU which have also great importance for North Cyprus.

Assoc Prof Güzer also emphasized the importance of Cyprus due to its situation depends on political and social-economic conditions and mentioned that cooperation between universities is very important for architectural production and for students’ development.
