Chief editor of the Cyprus Observer Newspaper and Press consultant of Girne American University, qualified journalist Ali Yalıman was laid away. His colleagues, family and the authorities of GAU attended the funeral ceremony and the soil for his grave brought by his family from his hometown Eskişehir.

After the noon prayer that performed at Girne Nurettin Ersin Paşa Mosque, Ali Yalıman had been laid away at Karaoğlanoğlu cemetery. Founding Rector of GAU, Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar, CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators  Olgun Üstün and Cemile Esenyel, Rector Professor Dr. Yıldırım Öner, 2. Chairman of external press association Taner Gönül, journalists, English community members, and besides the English colleagues, executive and academic staff of GAU attended the funeral ceremony.
