Minister Atasayan: “GAU is Achieving Great Works for the Country and the Higher Education”

National Education, Youth and Sports Minister Mutlu Atasayan has visited GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus and was informed about GAU and international campuses and also about the global higher education programs.

Minister Atasayan was accompanied by Undersecretary Ali Yönel, Director of Higher education and Foreign Affairs Department Hüseyin Kavaz, Director of Primary education Department Bumin Paşa and President of Auditing, Examining and Guidance Council Murat Aktuğ for the examining that took place after the presentation held at GAU Cyprus-Girne Campus by the university authorities about “Global Higher education and GAU”

Minister Atasayan has made significant statements about higher education while GAU Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar and GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellors of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Cemaliye Esenyel, Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek have also participated.


ATASAYAN: “GAU Undertakes Significant Tasks beside Achieving Great works amongst Higher education Institutions”.Atasayan stating that he intimately pursues the progress of GAU towards higher education and emphasized that GAU undertakes significant tasks besides achieving great works amongst higher education institutions and on behalf of the country.

The university contributes to higher education, student development and promotion of the country with the vision set in the abroad campuses. Atasayan also stated that he is much honored to witness the development and the progress intimately in the Cyprus-Girne Campus.

Atasayan emphasizing his proudness of intimately following success of the education quality and student development of GAU, he also underlined that as Ministry they are ready to contribute for any help necessitated towards achieving success against the obstacles set counter to the country as it develops to be an island of education and science.

Atasayan emphasizing that GAU undertakes significant tasks beside achieving great works amongst other higher education institutions and thanked Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar for their work and contribution in the development of higher education and promotion of the country.


AKPINAR: “Our Aim is to Increase the number of Students up to 10 Thousand.”In his speech the Founding Rector and Chancellor of Board of Administrators Serhat Akpınar stated that they aim to rise up to 10 thousand students for the Cyprus-Girne Campus and also emphasized that Girne Campus is enlarging both academically through new departments and physically through the building of new faculty building and education centers.

Akpınar also underlining that the universities in the country must set common vision to solve the problems faced and that the problems encountered are affecting all universities. A common rational and objective solution will be a benefit for all universities. On behalf of GAU Science family Akpınar spoke his appreciations to Minister Atsayan for his visit and underlined that as GAU the obligations will be accomplished in means of building an island of science and thus will continue to produce knowledge in this respect.

Subsequently to the informing explanations of GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Dr. Asım Vehbi, Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Olgun Üstün and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker about the academic and physical development of the university, abroad campuses and academic programs, Atasayan undertook some examinations and visited the workshop which was organized for the higher education opinion leaders whom arrived in TRNC for the Global Higher education Workshop from over 70 countries.
