IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROTOCOL SIGNED AMONGST GAU AND TRNC AIR SPORTS FEDERATION GAU WILL COMMENCE THE FIRST PILOTAGE EDUCATION FOR THE UNIVERSITIES OF THE ISLAND

The Pilotage and Civil Aviation education to be provided firstly in GAU-Girne Campus amongst all of the TRNC universities was officialized via the protocol signed between GAU and TRNC Air Sports Federation.

GAU Aviation Higher School which provides education for Civil Aviation and Management of Transportation will begin admissions for the pilotage in the new academic semester.

GAU will commence providing education on pilotage while the protocol was signed with the TRNC Air Sports Federation which is the competent authority for practical education and permission on pilotage.

The protocol was signed amongst GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Asım Vehbi on behalf of GAU-Girne Campus and Founding General President Pilot Serdar Turganer on behalf of TRNC Air Sports Federation during the opening ceremony held in GAU-Girne Campus.

Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Sadık Ülker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen and authorized person of the federation Mehmet Muhtaroğlu have also participated the signing ceremony.

VEHBİ: “North Cyprus will be a significant headquarters for the pilotage and civil aviation education.”

GAU CEO and Vice-Chancellor of Board of Administrators Asım Vehbi has stated in his speech that 5 years ago GAU has commenced the Higher school of Aviation with the departments of civil aviation and transportation management and with the accreditation of the Council of Higher Education and Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council, the pilotage education will commence in the new academic semester and he also emphasized that he is very glad to have signed a protocol with the TRNC Air Sports Federation in regards to this scope.

Vehbi also stated that the transportation has reached to a great extend in the globe that it efects the economies of the countries, and underlined that with the rise in the number of airway management the lack in pilotage have occurred.

Dr. Vehbi also underlined that he is honored to have commenced the pilotage education as the first university. He also emphasized that the air transportation has great significance in TRNC as we are an island. The aim of GAU is to work for to the headquarters of pilotage and civil aviation in TRNC.

Dr. Vehbi thanked the support of TRNC Air Sports Federation towards the university for the education of pilotage. Vehbi also underlined that professions like aviation will be the rising professions for the next 20 years.

The president of TRNC Air Sports Federation Serdar Turganer said that; the federation which has been contributing for the development of civil aviation in the country will appreciate supporting GAU Higher school of Aviation.

Turganer also emphasized that education will be given in both theoretical and practical methods. Theoretical part will be given in GAU and practical methods will be given by TRNC Air Sports Federation. He also stated that protocol will make important contributions to both civil aviation and aviation education.
