ASIIN Accreditation Evaluation Session to GAU Engineering Faculty has ended. ASIIN gave equivalency to an engineering faculty in both North Cyprus and Turkey for the first time.


With the approval of ASIIN Accreditation GAU became first and only university in both North Cyprus and Turkey which gives engineering education in EU standards.


GAU Engineering Faculty academic programs have successfully received approval by European Union’s leading science and engineering science superintending and accreditation corporation ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics) forcompleting the evaluation process of accreditation.


With ASIIN equivalency and accreditation session, 13 engineering labs, academic staff and curriculum of GAU Engineering Faculty Departments became first and only university in both North Cyprus and Turkey which gives engineering education in EU standards.


Graduated students will have ASIIN approval in their diplomas. And with this approval GAU graduates will create difference and awareness amongst others in addition to student development by ASIIN equivalence.


In addition to Industrial Engineering based in Germany, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering disciplines in the structure of GAU Engineering Faculties have been approved and entered equivalency session by ASIIN (which inspects science and engineering educations to EU standard and higher education system criteria in EU countries) After the inspection session they have expressed their positive impressions to university authorities. Dean of Engineering Faculty Zafer Ağdelen made important statements to GAU TV.


“We have entered the European Higher Education Zone”
Ağdelen stated that with the ASIIN equivalency and accreditation session GAU Engineering Faculty academic programs will enter to European Union (EU) higher education zone. He also emphasized that session started with the inspection of Techno Park laboratories’ technological infrastructure which is the center of engineering disciplines in addition to curriculum and scientific works of the lecturers. Also, accreditation and equivalency of ASIIN will be the proof of given higher education by the GAU Engineering Faculty departments with European Union quality and criteria.


“It is an Important Reference to Recognition of Higher Education in TRNC”
According to Ağdelen with the end of ASIIN accreditation session it will be certain that GAU is in European higher education zone and giving education in European Union standards. And it is an important reference to recognition of higher education TRNC. And session will make important contributions to student development and success in students’ career.


“13 of the Scientific Laboratories are Above EU Criteria”
Ağdelen also stated that in order to give engineering education in world standards and carrying student development to maximum level, infrastructure and technologic properties of Physics, Chemistry, Software Technologies Research and Development, Computer, Electronics, Ergonomics and Job Specification-Description, PLC and Microprocessor, Electrical Machines, Mechatronics, Software Development & Communication and Microwave laboratories have carried above European Union education criteria. He also emphasized that with GAU Girne Campus Techno-Park science center’s education laboratories, it will become center of attraction for sciences and engineering education.


“Graduates will have the approval of ASIIN and EUR-ACE® in their Diplomas”
                Ağdelen pointed the importance of ASIIN and EUR-ACE® approval, which will take place in the diploma of the graduated GAU students. He said that approval of ASIIN and EUR-ACE® in the diploma of GAU Engineering Faculty will create difference for GAU graduates. With the beginning of equivalency session of ASIIN, GAU will create difference and awareness amongst other engineering faculties.
