Chancellor Olgun Üstün whom was invited by Communication Faculty of Girne American University has spoken about the aim, works, duties and responsibilities of the commission in the seminar.


Üstün: “Transition to digital broadcasting in 2014 and the new law is our aim”
During the seminar which was held in Girne American University Millennium Senate Congress Center for the students of the Communication Faculty, Chancellor of High Broadcasting Commission Olgun Üstün have presented an explanatory information about the topics like the periods, events, principles, auditing methods, sanctions against broadcasting tendering, types of licenses and aims of HBC from founding years till the present.


Üstün further explained that nearby objectives consists of completing the progress DVB-T and T-DAP (Digital radio and TV) and obtaining a developing recent technology in the mid-term and also forming a law in compliance with the EU “Audio-Visual Media Services” directive.

Seminar was attended by Vice-President of GAU Administrators Council Cemile Esenyel, Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Öner, Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek, Dean of Communication Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neriman Saygılı and also teaching staffs and large number of Communication Faculty students.
