Girne American University is commencing the shootings of the vision documentary which will allow the future and recent to be analyzed together via conveying the present social memory 25 years ahead.

The project of “Letters for Future” which is undertaken by GAU and Prequel Production cooperation will go down in history and unveil documents for present after 25 years. Ferhat Atik who will co-opt and also is the director and the scenarist of

 The Letters for Future project, is preparing to hit the headline for the next 25 years by shooting a vision documentary which consists of interviews held by 25 chosen individual with 25 special topics.

The Shootings of Present in relation to the “Letters for Future” Project will be Stored to be Unveiled after 25 Years. The mutual statement made by the GAU and Prequel Productions emphasized that the mentioned project will be unique for its scope and method and will forecast in different issues, project scenes from entire country and held interviews from 25 different places and will record all these details with a cinematic perspective and by using latest technology.

In the light of conveying present to future and keeping it alive, the project will also consist of future related pictures to be drawn by 250 children whom are under 12 years of age and exclusive topics that will be shared with the public will also be recorded to be unveiled after 25 years.

The interviews conducted, the letters to be written by 25 opinion leaders whom at the fore of the Turkish Cypriot community, the pictures to be drawn by the future’s opinion leaders and in addition to all these the items to be added to the project during the process will be stored for 25 years via special technology and will be shared with the public of the country and the world after 25 years.

“It is Social Responsibility to Participate in the Project to Create the Future while Leading the Present” In addition to the education and teaching success of reformist and progressivist vision of Girne American University on cross-continental land, the Letters for Future project which imply the importance for the idea and vision have completed the preparatory period as a vision project and first vision documentary which will attract attention of the world.

The Founding Rector and Chancellor of Administrators Board Serhat Akpınar have stated that the activities to be realized upon the erection of the specially designed Letters for Future Monument and the ceremony of the project, have also phrased that it is social responsibility to participate in the project to contribute to the social memory and history of the society in order to allow Turkish Cypriots to adopt the mission of creating their future while they led the way till present and unveiling documents after 25 years and sharing it with the world by travelling cross-continental to other overseas campuses of GAU.

“Welcome to Our Future” Undertaking both director and scenarist roles of the project, Ferhat Atik have stated that with a content like future based interviews, participant and public letters, pictures drawn by our children, monument statue making, annual ceremony and vision study the project is unique for it is been the only project in the world with as much scope.

The project which will include interviews from all demographic groups and pictures from the children is aimed to keep the information, documents and work of art, which are kept in the wornness of the history and buried in to the past, updated and protect most of the values, valuable places and warmth of the memories of the country after 25 years and Atik also underlining that time is progressing and is a vanishing concept he also emphasized that the Letters for Future means that North Cyprus is first in the world for their produced ideas.
