GAU has receivd approval from YOK and YODAK for 10 new Departments.
The new departments which will be included in the YOK booklet will accept applications from students in the 2012-2013 academic year.

As the Girne American University prepares to celebrate its 27th year in higher education it has received approval from YOK and YODAK to accept students to the 10 new departments.

Chinese Langauge and Literature and along with Several YOK Certified Departments will be opened at GAU for the first time

Girne American University currently provides education in 11 different vocational high schools including Marine, Aviation, Performing arts, Law, Advanced Engineering Disciplines and Fine Arts, Architercure, Interior Architecture, International Business, Psychology, Psychological Counseling and Guidance, 5 academies, 8 faculties and 1 institute, 47 undergraduate, 31 postgraduate and 9 doctorate programmes. Starting from the academic year 2012-2013, the university will also start providing education in YOK certified Turkish Law, Chinese Language and Literature, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Classroom Teaching, Healthcare Management, Ergotherapy, Power Systems Engineering, Tokology, Civil Engineering and Civil Aviation Management.

New Departments will be included in the OSYM Preference Booklet and the 7 years of continuous scholarship for Turkish candidates will also apply to the new departments

It was reminded that students who will start higher education with OSYM scholarship and LYS exam will be granted a 7 years of continuous scholarship which will apply to all departments. According to the statement, undergraduate programs scholarship will be valid for 7 years and associate degree programs scholarship will be valid for 5 years. The scholarships will apply to the new YOK and YODAK certified departments.
