Scriptwriting and Direction of the short movie “Have you ever cried?” was made by GAU student Onur Öztürk, post production phase and consultancy was made by GAU Media Coordinatorship. And it has taken place in Ereğli 1st International Short Movie Festival. And out of 125 short movies from 13 countries, movie managed to enter first 30 which are known as “Movies worth Watching”.

In addition to TRNC, 125 movies from USA, Germany, Finland, France, Iran, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Italy, Columbia, Poland and Turkey has participated to Ereğli 1st International Short Movie Festival.

Ereğli 1st International Short Movie Festival Main Jury Members were Euroshouts official Kaja Wasilewska, Anatolia Photography and Cinema Amateurs President of Association Memduh Ekici, Scriptwriter Director Mesut Kara, Euroshouts Director Member Przemyslaw Mlynczyk, Sinematek President of Association Yücel Ünlü. Short movie “Have You Ever Cried?” took place in first 30 by privileged jury. And the plot of the movie is about a family which had lost their little son in a social conflict happened in Cyprus before 1974.

Movie “Have You Ever Cried?” fictionalizes the misery occurred during social conflicts in Cyprus with the view of both of the societies. It also carries out the misery of lost relatives, hopes, expectations and anticipations, anger and uprising to silver screen. It also has a different point of view to Cypriot Turkish campaign history and carries out the events occurred in Cyprus to international festivals where cinemagoers around the world can see.

“Have You Ever Cried?” will meet with the audience at 13rd July 2012, Friday in Ereğli Atatürk Culture Park.

“A Saturday in Medical Station” is in finale

Scriptwriting and Direction of the short movie “A Saturday in Medical Station” was made by GAU student Onur Öztürk, GAU TV was in charge of production and Gaziosmanpaşa University (Located in Turkey’s province Tokat) has organized it. Movie won “Third Prize” in GOÜ 1st International Movie Festival and it became “Finalist” in 7th Independent Film Festival organized by Anatolia _______ . It also won “Jury Special Award” in METU KKK 1st Short Film Festival organized by METU KKK. “A Saturday in Medical Station” has made to first 20 also known as “Finalist Movies” in Ereğli 1st International Short Movie Festival out of 125 short movies.

In addition to Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and Turkey, TRNC with GAU staff has also made it to finale with the movie “A Saturday in Medical Station”. Movie has made into worth watching category and made it to finale.

“A Saturday in Medical Station” will meet with the audience at 13rd July 2012, Friday in Ereğli Atatürk Culture Park and at 14th July 2012 Saturday Ereğli Culture Center.
