GAU has pioneered in TRNC starting short term piloting training. Other than short term piloting education, GAU will give education in aviation sector to 15 different branches. Getting training from Aviation Certification will be recognized internationally and GAU will give these trainings in TRNC for the first time.

Aviation Academy Manager Dr. HakkıDoğankaya made a statement on the issue. According to him, Aviation Certification and Education Programs will consist of PPL/AFA Coordinated Amateur Pilot Certification, CPL/AFA Coordinated Commercial Pilot Certification, ATPL/AFA Coordinated Air Transport Pilot License, Dispatching, Flight Attendance, Aviation Law, Airport Management, Airline Business, Aviation English, Aviation Meteorology, Flight Crew Resource Management, Aviation Management, Human Factor and Management In Aviation, Aviation Safety and Security, Total Quality Management in Aviation; Aviation Board and Rules.

Doğankaya emphasized that in addition to Piloting and Cabin Assistance there will be 14 different profession groups related to aviation sector. And these education programs and certification courses will be held in GAU for the first time amongst other TRNC universities. He also said that these courses will make important contributions to craft knowledge and language development of people who will continue to their profession in aviation sector in future.

According to Doğankaya, people who continue to their education in Airline Businesses, Aviation Businesses, Government and Private Sector Aviation Administration Fields, Aviation Industry, Aviation Maintenance Companies, Air Traffic and Air Navigation Units, Aviation Education Foundations, Logistic Corporation and Establishment will be able to learn things about aviation alongside with craft knowledge and they will be able to develop their languages with these certification and education programs. He also emphasized that certification and education programs have international validity.

According to statement made from GAU, in addition to YÖK and YÖDAK Equivalence, European Council for Business Education (ECBE), International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) and International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) accreditations, Europe Union’s and World’s leading Education Units such as; International Association of Universities (IAU) , Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), European Council of International Schools (ECIS), Erasmus Student Network (ESN), EURHODIP, International Federation for Business Education (IFBE), International Award Association (IAA), and European Association for International Education have memberships to Aviation Academy Civil Aviation Transmission Business. And these departments are going to accept TRNC Students’ applications for higher education.

Students who will finish their education in university license or short term pilotage courses will be granted diplomas and certificates such as TC SHGM supported by AFA and PPL, CPL or ATPL supported by JAR FCL. GAU Aviation Flight Program will be stationed at TRNC Ercan Airport in 2012-2013 Session.

In GAU campus, a professional mock-up a flight simulator in world standards will be open to students from GAU Aviation Academy. Also, GAU Aviation Administration Program has been accepted by YÖK as “Civil Aviation Transmission Management” which is valid anywhere in the world.
