Girne American University (GAU) Faculty of Education, Music Education Department`s highly anticipated traditional End of Year Concert was held at the GAU Spectrum International Convention Center as part of the Spring Festivities of 2019.

The event starting with piano and chorus made up of Music Teaching students under the leadership of Music Teaching faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Sever brought local and foreign music to the auidience. The concert was a reflection of the education and training program carried out during the academic period and was appreciated by the students displaying their artistic qualities.

GAU Head of Music Education Department Assist. Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Sönmezler in his statement at the concert; ‘‘This year, we celebrate the sixth year of the year-end show, we also share a great happiness. Turkish students joined us as the last year, we gained approval from  Turkish Council of Higher Education. This year, we performed our concert for the first time with both TRNC and Turkish nationals. Its happiness is priceless.’’

Dean of the Faculty of Education of GAU Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kale in her speech during the night;

“Music Education Department Our Year-End Concerts are the concerts where we shed the fatigue and stress of the year together.

“Müzik Öğretmenliği Bölümü Yıl Sonu Konser’lerimiz bir yılın yorgunluklarını, streslerini birlikte attığımız konserler oluyor. I would like to thank to all of our teachers and students who have contributed selflessly and to our music teacher head Ahmet Sönmezler.” dedi.

Classical, solo, duet, western and pop music were performed in the concert which was listened with great interest by academicians and students alike.
