Futuristic Designs With The GAU Theme From The Engineers Of The Future

At the exhibition organised by the Industrial Engineering department of the GAU Engineering Faculty, 15 designs with the theme of future were exhibited by the engineers of the future.

The exhibition at the GAU Girne Campus Advance Engineering Education Centre, Techno Park exhibition hall was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sadık Ünver and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek , Vice-Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen, Dean of the Engineering Faculty and Dr. Burcu Toker, head of the Industrial Engineering Department.The exhibition was also attended by the authorities from the Support Delegation of the Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa.

In connection with the designs of the students of Industrial Engineering Department of the Engineering Faculty, Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Ağdelen in his important statement to the GAU TV said that the Girne American University which began its education in TechnoPark laboratories in the academic year 2006-2007 by supporting the theoretical education in the practical field, has become one of the leading research centres in the field of engineering disciplines .

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ağagelen stressing that the world standard engineering education at the Techno Park and the service it provides in order to enhance the student access to the highest level in Physis, Chemistry, Research and Development i n Printing Technologies, Research and Development Technologies of the Internet, Alternative Energy, Computer -Aided Production, Computer, Electronics, Ergonomy and Task Study, PLC and Microfunctioning, Electrical Machines, “Mectronics”, Printing Development and Communication and Microwave laboratories with their infrastructure and technological properties being a centre for advanced engineering education and sciences continue their work and production, pointed out that the newly set up laboratories as well as laboratories with the renewed infrastructures which were built by the contributions of the Support Delegation of the Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa, had played an important role in the development of students, and thanked the authorieties for their help.

Stating that the GAU designs with futuristic themes present important tasks and new approaches, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ağdelen said that with its capacity and items it had presented , the exhibition constituted the first important achievement of the universities and engineering education of the country, and finished his talk by thanking the students who had attended the exhibition and all academics who had worked hard for the exhibition to be realized.

In her statement regarding the exhibition, Dr. Burcu Toker Ersöz, Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, pointed out that scientific output and designs which had come about onstitute the first examples of their kind among the TRNC universities and stressed that the advanced engineering education laboratories at the Techno Park had significantly contributed to development of students and created an important difference and awareness.

Dr. Ersöz said that the winners of the first three positions among 15 designs participating in the exhibition would be determined by the committe of experts who would assess the designs and she thanked the students who had worked hard for the exhibition and those who had contributed to the development of students.
