GAU Dance Academy Returned With 2 Rewards From Turkey

Turkey University Sports Federation has organized Intercollegiate Dance Competition for the fourth time this year. GAU Performing Arts Faculty Dance Academy has won the best choreography and won the third prize amongst 17 universities.

Turkey’s one of leading dance authorities, functional dance model founder, GAU Performing Arts Faculty instructor Galip Emre has prepared the choreography. Dance named Mass Destruction was awarded with third prize in Turkey and brought to TRNC. Sevim Akpınar, Toya Akpınar, Çağan Ulutaş, Laden Engüzel and Yaşan Mustafa from GAU Dance Academy have made statements to GAU TV Aktüel Haber program.
“With our choreography we have pointed out the effects of pressure on society caused by the politics”

Dance Academy students stated that they are happy to win the third prize amongst 17 universities in Turkey and “Best Choreography” awards with Mass Destruction choreography. They also stated that their dance aims to point out that standing against politic bureaucracy shows that politics have pressure on people. They also emphasized that dance and all sorts of artistic stance should give important messages to society. They also thank GAU for allowing them to develop themselves, give some opportunity to experience different things such as participating international competitions.
“Goal is European Championship”

Intercollegiate Dance Competition is organized by Turkey University Sports Federation and by attending this competition for the first time last year, students emphasized that they have won the championship award in Turkey and brought championship to TRNC. Students plan to get the first prize of Europe Championship which will be held next year in Italy. They also stated that challenging prominent universities of Turkey and Performing Arts Faculties require a well preparation and performance. They have pointed that with GAU Performing Arts Faculty’s background and international academic staff, they will return with another award from Europe Championship.
