GAU Receives 3 Awards From National Architecture Design Competition

Students from GAU Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine arts have received three awards from National Architecture Design Competition.

Nuriye Ceren Kaplan from the Department of Architecture has been winner for the third position, and Sinan Veysioğlu and Ayşenurcan Gitmiş have received honorable mention at the competition organized with the theme “Desing your own grave”.

The awards for the winner and runner up have been given to Mimar Sinan University from Turkey.

The projects prepared on philosophical and poetic approaches to human existence, relationship between human beings and nature within the framework of the course “Basic Design” given by Bahar Aktuna, Buğu Şah and Asst. Prof.Dr. Hossein Sadri, Head of Department of Architecture and Interior Design and described with the language of architecture have attracted the attention of audience.

In his statement, Asst. Prof.Dr. Hossein Sadri, Head of Department of Architecture and Interior Design said ‘We see architecture not only as a building process but also a social, cultural and ideational fact”. Thanking and congratulating all the students, Dr. Hossein Sadri emphasized that they are trying to encourage their students to be reflective and creative in their projects.
