1. What are the GAU – Canterbury Study Abroad tuition fees?

Tuition fees:

  • Foundation English Programme £ 4200 GBP (per academic year)
  • Undergraduate Programme £ 4200 GBP (per academic year)
  • Master Courses £ 5200 GBP (whole programme)

2. What type of accommodation is available at GAU – Canterbury?

GAU – Canterbury offers two types of accommodation:

Shared Student Housing: Student Housing based around the city near to campus. These Houses are fully furnished and made up of between 4-6 bedrooms with communal lounge, bathroom and kitchen. You would be sharing with other GAUC students. Students arriving late may have to be accommodated in nearby towns. Rate: 450 GBP per month.

Home Stay Accommodation: To give our students a truly British experience we offer the opportunity to stay with British families. This experience helps develop English language skills and provides firsthand knowledge of British culture. In home stay accommodation you would be provided with meals, laundry facilities, a shared bathroom and your own bedroom. Rate: 160 GBP per week. This sum includes morning, lunch and evening meals.

3. Do we need to pay extra for electricity and water? If so how much?

While Electricity and water are included in the accommodation fees excessive usage may result in additional charges.

4. When should we pay?

You must pay the full tuition and accommodation fees before you apply for your UK visa.

5. Do I need to have extra money on my account to apply for a visa?

You must have at least £600 per month in your account for living expenses. For one semester this is £2,400.

6. What programmes will be offered at Canterbury GAU in Fall 2011?

7. How will my grades appear in my GAU transcript?

Credits and grades earned in Canterbury will be included in your GAU transcripts. The courses taken at GAU Canterbury will be identified and a separate certificate will be issued stating that part of your programme was completed at the GAU Canterbury campus.

8. Will we obtain a second Diploma?

No, but as noted above, you will receive a separate certificate confirming the credits earned in Canterbury.

9. Can I study my final year at GAU Canterbury?

Yes, you can. Turkish students can study their last year in the UK campus and according to YOK regulations, they will be granted the standard GAU Diplomas.

10. I’ve paid the full accommodation & tuition fees in Cyprus and have decided to study at GAU Canterbury. Can I transfer the funds to the Canterbury account?

Yes, your funds will be automatically transferred to GAU Canterbury. However, the differences in the fees should be paid to GAU Canterbury account. Note, there are no scholarships in Canterbury as the fees charged are lower in comparison with the other UK universities.

11. Are Summer School courses available?

Yes, there are. If you are interested in studying at Canterbury during the Summer Semester you should inform the International Campuses Office and your department at the beginning of May, you will be assisted in making the necessary arrangements.

12. When will the Spring Semester 2012 registration commences?

Our registrations for Spring Semester 2012 will start on the 14th of November

13. Who will sponsor our visa? Who will advise us when we apply for a visa?

GAU Canterbury has a sponsor’s license from the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) to sponsor students from overseas. The International Campuses Office will assist you with your applications. However, the decision whether to award a visa lies solely with the British Embassy visa department.
