“We would like to study at Karmi Campus if we were students. We celebrate GAU.” Osman Sınav and Metin Günay met with communication students before the award ceremony at GAU Cyprus Karmi Campus Millennium Complex Senate Hall. The famous directors began the interview, in which they shared their work lives and the secrets of their successes, by saying “We would like to study at GAU if we were students.”

Expressing that they were pleased to take place in the short film competition of GAU as guests, the directors talked with the students on cinema. Making conversations with students in question and answer form, the directors surprised the students with the interesting answers they gave. Expressing the secret of success as the dreaming philosophy, Osman Sınav explained his dreams by saying “I look for dream partners to make dreams come true. One of them is Metin Günay. Even the most difficult dreams come true when you find the dream partners. Every person who changed the world had a dream, if you do not have a dream, you will be the figurant of the dreams of someone else.”

“My last dream is to shoot a love film, in which East and West would be sythesis.” Stressing that his last dream was to make a love film, Sınav said he wanted to shoot a Romeo and Leyla or Juliet and Mecnun type film. Metin Günay has said that his accomplishments in TV shows were to work with trained cinema artists and he gave advice to young communication students by saying “Turkish TV show and cinema sectors are developing; because cinema and TV departments are being studied in universities since 1980s. Success is sourced from education.” The 25th year flowers of Osman Sınav and Metin Günay were given to them by Chairman of GAU Health, Culture and Sports Department Türkay Akpınar and by the Dean of GAU Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Alpay Ataol for their contribution. After the interview, the films that ranked the first three place in the award ceremony of the 4th Short Film Festival Among High Schools, in which amateur cinema artists came together from Turkey and TRNC, were watched. As. Prof. Dr. Neriman Saygılı : “The aim is to discover new talents” In the statement she made, the Chairperson of GAU Communication Faculty Public Relations and Press and Media Department As. Prof. Dr. Neriman, who made a lot of effort in the organization of the competition, said the organization that was held traditionally was aimed to discover new talents in Turkey and TRNC and to gain them in the sector and as GAU Faculty of Communication, they would continue their works.
