Library--Reference and Lending Services

Library Collections

The GAU Library supports the University’s commitment to excellence in education by providing quality information services to students, faculty, staff, and others by developing information resources to provide for diverse needs.There is an extensive book collection providing support to the faculties and the Foundation English programme. New acquisitions are increasing rapidly and suggestions for improving the collection are welcome.

Collections include:

  • Main collection of circulating books that can be borrowed.
  • Reference Collection of encyclopedias and other books to be used in the Library.
  • Theses collection of GAU theses for in-library use.
  • Print journals collection in the reading Room area.
  • Electronic collections.

Library Services

Services to library users include:

  • Lending Services: Items can be borrowed and returned at the Circulation Desk.
  • Reference Service: please ask for assistance when needed.
  • Instruction: librarians and staff are happy to provide assistance and instruction on using library resources. Watch for library orientations and workshops on electronic resources. Faculty may request special arrangements for a class.

The Library is housed conveniently in the lower level of the Millennium Building. Facilities include:

  • General study and recreational seating and tables.
  • Access to the Library' s full range of electronic resources through networked PCs.
  • The "Red Room" cafe is attached to the library which can be used for group study purposes.
